It’s taken a while but all the known bugs are fixed and there are HEAPS of upgrades. We’ve been asked about offering the ability to change the margins or the padding and then could we offer different borders and could we make it so the bullet style could change and could we allow changes to font color, face or size — the list goes on.
Every time we thought we were finished, someone would ask for something different. I know it’s a free plugin and if I’m honest I probably said once or twice, “Geez.. it’s free – do they think we have nothing to do but create something special for them?” Heh.. Honestly, it was only a fleeting moment when I wanted him to do something else for me.
It’s now possible to put links into your recipes and also add photos. This takes a bit of effort but it’s not difficult at all. This was an often requested change.
If you’ve got a self-hosted WordPress blog and you haven’t found a way to cut and paste your recipes into your blog or a way for your readers to print your recipes – then give EasyRecipe a try. I went to Mr. O (rgasmic) months ago for an easy to use plugin that I could cut and paste my recipes into and not have to think. He’s a very clever man and I liked the plugin so much that we decided to share it. Click here for the EasyRecipe page.

Hi, Maureen! I’ve been trying to get a recipe plug-in on my blog for months, but the folks at wordpress say: “Not allowed for security reasons.” (Unless you’re self-hosted.) Frankly, I don’t know if I’m self-hosted or not, lol. So until I figure that out, I appreciate you & Mr. O working on this tirelessly! Happy Spring!

I was searching for a recipe plug in–this “Easy Recipe” looked good, so I went to check out the details. And there you were! So excited that I can use this and also kinda “know” the creator! Kudos to you and Mr.O both!!
And to Kimby, if you’re at http://www.yoursite.com, you’re self-hosted. If you’re at yoursite.wordpress.com, then you’re hosted by WP. I made the switch from WP to self hosted WP about a year ago and have been very happy. Good luck! 🙂

Ooh yay! Do you know that just yesterday I was wishing I could put a link into my easyrecipe for the Chicken S’mack Salad?! Going to update now. Didn’t realize you were part of the easyrecipe team – thank you, I love it!!!

Yes Ruby, my husband wrote Easy Recipe for me because there was nothing out there that was simple to use and got blogs on Google’s Recipe View. It takes several months but my recipes are now on Recipe View. Yay. Then Ziplist copied our format. It wasn’t the other way around as has been suggested. We were first.

Just saw that this was from August. Ha – that’s what I get for ignoring the update alerts on my WP dashboard! You didn’t mention it, but this update seems to have fixed a niggly problem I was having, which was the recipe card not saving without a ‘null’ value being entered into blank fields. Nice.
